About me

I was born in Athens and at the age of six I moved with my family to Germany, where I attended school. My school years and years as a university student were marked by many moves to different cities and countries. Besides Greece and Germany, I lived one year in the U.S. These moves have enriched me with valuable experiences by meeting people from different cultures, with different mentalities and various value systems.

Initially, I studied Media and Communication (Bachelor of Arts) at the Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich in Germany, and then continued my studies with a Master of Arts in Marketing, Advertising and Public Relations at the University of Sheffield in Thessaloniki. After three years of work experience in the field of Marketing, I consciously decided to switch to the field of psychology and psychotherapy. I studied psychology (Bachelor of Science) at the university Fernuniversität in Hagen and then completed my academic studies with a two-year master’s program (Master of Science) in psychology (case number for recognition of foreign university degrees by the Hellenic National Academic Recognition and Information Center: 48- 7/2021). As soon as I completed my academic studies, I moved to Athens and chose to follow the training program in Systemic Existential Psychotherapy at the institute “Antistixi”. Antistixi is a certified training institute for Systemic Psychotherapy by the European Family Therapy Association (EFTA) and collaborates closely with the Hellenic Association for Systemic Therapy of Families, Individuals and Groups (HELASYTH), the Hellenic Society for Systemic Thinking and Family Therapy (EESKETHO) and the Greek Association for Psychotherapy.

Now, I maintain my office in Kifisia, Athens, where I obtained a license to practice psychology in 2021 (Ref. No.: 466091). I work as a therapist (membership number at HELASYTH: 432) with adults, teenagers and families.

The Systemic Existential Approach treats each person with respect regarding their personal history and does not view someone as isolated from their family and social context. The most important “system” is the family that the person grew up in. However Systemic Therapy is not limited to only viewing the roles and development of one’s family, but it also explores a person’s culture and wider social context. The Existential Approach emphasizes the multiple options that we have to functionally relate to our fellow human beings. It does not focus only on dealing with a symptom, but also highlights the wealth and strength that everybody hides inside themselves. Existential questions are raised during the therapeutic process and personal responsibility is strengthened, so that the person in therapy can become the director of their own life.
