Psychotherapy can utilize technology to its advantage for people seeking to talk to a professional from a distance. Remote sessions are held via Skype and are meant for those who cannot come to the practice in person. This may have several reasons: Distance from Athens, mobility difficulties, special circumstances (e.g. the current pandemic) or living abroad. The goals of online therapy are the same as the goals of therapy in person. If possible, it is recommended that the first meeting and sporadic sessions are held “face to face”. Remote sessions are conducted in confidentiality, following the same ethical rules of psychotherapy, as the therapy sessions that are held “face to face”.
