Puberty is a special time period in which adolescents try to find and build their identity. In this journey they often seek independence from their parents, but at the same time need to feel security. Therapy sessions with teenagers are always held in collaboration with the parents and cover a variety of topics that may concern the adolescent. These can be physical and biological changes, stress at school, loneliness, family grief, aggression, problems with friendships or romantic relationships, feelings of sadness or indifference, low self-esteem, and much more. Teenagers often do not realize the abilities, strengths and capabilities that they have. The goal of therapy is to activate those inner strengths through the therapist’s respect, trust and inspiration.
